driving home on the backroads with the smell of fish from the Legion in my car, sunroof open, singing along (poorly) to David Bowie, and a stop sign spray painted to say “STOP crack whores”. Ahhh … Collinsville.
Since Murray felt nothing from the shock collar thanks to his thick fur, I thought I would shave some of the fur from the underside of his neck.
BAD IDEA!
I’m bleeding. Mom’s bleeding. Usually it’s
Sydney doing this kind of damage. Now Murray is in the basement meowing, probably performing some sort of voodoo ritual against us. If my skin melts off you know who to blame.
It’s a small miracle although, it’s technically a post about needing to post. So close!
Sydney turned green again the other day – I did not do this on purpose!
She loves to roll around in the freshly-cut grass.
This paw looks like it could glow in the dark.
But look how sweet she can be!
I bought a fancy-schmancy camera strap to go with my mildly-schmancy camera. I was taking a picture of Murray …
when it decided it had enough and demanded to be in the spotlight …
So fancy! That’s my story. Not my fault. I don’t take bad photographs. Nope.
My old cat, Kitty, used to LOVE wet food. These two, on the other hand, would rather starve than eat it. Murray will eat a small amount and that’s about it. He licks. He won’t grab a chunk of food but he’ll lick which is why I’m mashing his and mixing with a bit of water to make it more “lickable”. Dexter ate a tiny bit yesterday after I tried tuna on top. I’m very worried they’re not getting enough to eat so I added some dry next to the wet (one of the tricks from catinfo), they gobbled it up. At catinfo she ended up using a syringe to feed some of her cats, so that’s what I did with Dexter today. It wasn’t the fiasco I thought it would be. I even tried crushing some dry food and sprinkling it on top of wet. They said “nice try, now gimme dry kibble or I’ll kill you in your sleep”
No, not for me. For my cats and soon for the dog. I was very surprised to learn that the dog food Sydney has been on her whole life isn’t as great as I may have thought. I was told about a website, Dog Food Analysis, that will tell you almost exactly what your pet has been eating in their food. More on that later.
I went looking for cat food information as well. I found some at catinfo.org. Using that as a jumping off point I decided on switching to Wellness wet food. I was inspired by the weight loss of the cats documented at catinfo.org. I’m hoping I can do the same for Murray who is currently 21 pounds. More on this later as well.
The reason I want to keep tabs of here on a blog is because I will feel the need to answer to someone about it. In other words, I won’t give up trying and end up tossing some dry food down because I’m tired of fighting with them and feeling lazy. I officially started yesterday, April 15th. Here’s what I’m dealing with so far…
Murray’s food with a little parm. cheese on it to entice him.
